Interior Design Magazine Features O+A and Kimball Office again.

Third time’s a charm for Studio O+A founders and principals Primo Orpilla and Verda Alexander, who once again revamped the Chicago location of Kimball Office. Last year, the Interior Design Hall of Fame members won our Best of Year Award for showroom for the two-level space. This year, the firm built a series of color-coded “nodes” dedicated to the manufacturer’s key designers. PL-D’s green zone highlighted its Pairings upholstery, the context being a cabin in the woods. Daniel Korb’s Bauhaus-inspired Kore benching and lounge series is framed in blue to resemble a birdcage. Orpilla’s red outpost, inspired by junkyards, adjoins his Canopy workstations. Stripes and chevrons also figured prominently, creating backdrops for products like Theo, a versatile lounge chair offered in a range of veneers and laminates.
