Kimball Office Showroom achieves LEED-CI Gold Certification

Kimball Office is pleased to announce that thier Washington DC Showroom has been awarded LEED-CI Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The showroom, designed by Perkins & Will Washington DC Office, received this certification for energy and water usage, lighting, and material selections, as well as incorporating a variety of other sustainable strategies.

LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is a certification program for buildings and communities that guides their design, construction, operations, and maintenance toward sustainability. It’s based on prerequisites and credits that a project meets to achieve a certification level. The LEED certification on a building is one of the highest marks of quality and achievement in green building.

The showroom is located at 1130 Connecticut Ave. NW, Suite 1150 and received points for various design and structural elements. The showroom’s vast amount of windows allows for added natural daylight and LED lighting reduces energy usage and cooling costs. Low emitting materials, including Kimball Office’s furniture, construction materials, and architectural features enhance Indoor Air Quality.

“We are so excited to receive the honor of LEED-CI Gold for our newly renovated DC Showroom. This achievement means we are providing a healthier, more productive environment for our employees and customers,” stated Mike Donahue, VP of Sales for Kimball Office.
