Press release JASPER –
Jasper-based Kimball International Inc. (Nasdaq: KBAL) has selected Kristie Juster as its next chief executive officer. Juster, who has served on the company’s board of directors since 2016, succeeds Bob Schneider, who announced his retirement earlier this year.
Juster will begin her new role next month. She previously served as the president and CEO of the Global Writing Division of New Jersey-based Newell Brands Inc. (NYSE: NWL). Pat Connolly, lead independent director of the Kimball International Board of Directors, says Juster is a “visionary leader” with experience in areas important to the company’s future.
“While bringing an outside perspective, she also already has a strong understanding of our business and has contributed to the Company’s strategic planning as a member of our Board the last two and a half years,” said Connolly. “Kristie is a seasoned executive with extensive experience successfully transforming commercial and consumer brands. Her proven strategic, financial, and operational capabilities, combined with her strong commitment to growth, will position Kimball International for long-term success.”
Additionally, the Kimball International board announced it is separating the roles of chairman and CEO. The board plans to elect and appoint a new chair at its annual shareholders meeting October 30. As a result of the move, the board says it will discontinue the role of lead independent director.
Kimball International makes furniture for various markets, including office, education, healthcare and hospitality.
