Pomona Valley Hospital – Cholsu Sean Kim, gkkworks
In celebration of the “Next 100 Years” at PVHMC, the leadership wanted a timeless and contextual design. gkkworks designed and constructed a new three-story 55,000 SF OSHPD 3 building that projected an image of commitment and advancement to community healthcare delivery. The LEED Silver certified Outpatient Pavilion houses multiple outpatient services including PTOT, OT and the new administration on the top floor with a bird’s eye view of the campus. Special features include recovery areas designed with views of surrounding mountains and natural light which is proven to reduce recovery time; demountable DIRTT walls provide flexibility and brings daylight into the corridors; and five operating rooms equipped with state of the art equipment and laminar flow systems. By incorporating the new interior design standards and art program, the Outpatient Pavilion is complimentary of the original buildings on campus but that reflects the future of PVHMC healthcare.
