Designing for Equity: Serving the Underserved 12.03.24

The “Designing for Equity: Serving the Underserved” panel discussion addresses the commonalities and differences among health systems prioritizing health equity. Our panel brings together representatives from Kaiser Permanente, SAC Health, and San Fernando Community Health Center, each contributing a unique perspective and context.

The panel will address key health equity topics in design, such as stakeholder engagement, design strategy selection, diversity and inclusion, operational optimization, challenges, and lessons learned. Each panelist has been a stakeholder in a recently completed healthcare facility focused on affordable and accessible healthcare and will share their experiences in this discussion. Despite each project serving a distinct demographic and target population, the designs offer context-specific solutions rooted in the community’s narrative.

Join us for a panel discussion at our Chinatown Studio to hear from some of the Perkins and Will healthcare clients as they discuss Designing for Equity: Serving the Underserved. You’ll hear from Long Duong, Senior Director at Kaiser Permanente, Maryellen Westerberg, COO of SAC Health, and Audrey Simons, CEO of San Fernando Community Health Clinic.
