Roses & Lemon DTLA 2019 Awards Will Honor New Office, Retail, Restaurant, Residential and Hotel Developments

The Downtown Breakfast Club Will Also Bestow One Bitter ‘Lemon’

The Downtown Breakfast Club on Thursday, April 11, 2019, will give ‘Rose’ Awards to new office, residential, hotel and retail developments, plus new restaurants and bars, at the annual Roses and Lemon Awards Breakfast at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel.

The DBC will give a critical “Lemon” a place or problem that needs fixing. Each year, the DBC celebrates Downtown’s best new entertainment and development, while calling-out as a Lemon for improvement.

In addition to its development-based awards, DBC will bestow special Rose Garden awards to “places, events or designs that enhance the quality of life Downtown.”

The DBC mission is to encourage the orderly growth of Downtown Los Angeles. This year’s event is co-chaired by Laurie Michelle Stone and Jean-Guy Poitras, with DBC President Mike Savage.

Among the winners at last year’s Roses and Lemon Awards Breakfast was the Freehand Hotel. This year, three new hotels are competing in the “Heads in Beds” category. Winners will be announced Thursday, April 11 at Millennium Biltmore Hotel.

Taking the Rose in 2018 was Freehand Hotel, developer Sydell Group’s unique California take on a European-style hostel.
