THATCHER™

Elegant lounge chair with beauty at every angle

The goal, design a chair that should be seen from all sides. Thatcher was originally inspired by the Chicago river bascule bridges. The arm rest represents the bridge, the legs the truss structure, and the seat the road. The backrest of the seat was inspired by the counterweight that allows the bridge to be opened and closed. When designing this piece. Elliot wanted a chair that looks beautiful from all angles – even under the arms. The goal for this piece was to design a chair that should be seen from all sides, making it a piece worth displaying in the center of a room.
