DESCRIPTION:Photo from 2014 Calibre Awards copyright IIDA Southern California.\nEVENT DETAILS\nThe 2016 Calibre Design Awards Gala will be held on May 13\, 2016. \nCalibre Design Awards celebrate design and recognize the excellent work of project teams that have exceeded the expectations of our profession\, bringing design to life. \nWith this Award\, we honor the true meaning of collaboration for projects that exhibit a high level of teamwork and stunning design. \nThe 28th Calibre Design Awards Winners will be announced at the Gala on\nFriday\, May 13th 2016.  \nTickets are $325 for an individual ticket\, and $3\,250 for a table of ten.\nTo purchase a full page ad in the printed program is $850. \nCircle of Excellence\nThe Calibre Circle of Excellence honors an individual who exemplifies outstanding dedication to the interior design profession. We celebrate their passion for excellence in design\, quality and innovation. We recognize their leadership and mentoring qualities and an unwavering commitment to paving the way for the future. \nThe IIDA SoCal Calibre Design Awards 2016 committee is excited to announce this year’s Circle of Excellence honoree: \nBarbara Dunn\, FIIDA\nA principal at Gensler’s Los Angeles office\, Barbara Dunn is a recognized industry leader and award-winning Certified Contract Interior Designer. She has been published in Interior Design\, Interiors\, Daily Law Journal\, The Wall Street Journal and California Business. She is passionate about mentoring the next generation and consistently inspires design professionals to challenge themselves and to elevate the industry. Barbara served as President of the IIDA Southern California Chapter\, which under her leadership was awarded the Best Large Chapter of the Year.  She has been inducted as a Fellow to both the IIDA and the College of Law Practice Management.  She currently serves on the board of the Southern California Chapter of CoreNet Global as the Vice President of Education\, as well as the board and executive committee of the Santa Monica Museum of Art that is reinventing the museum’s mission as it prepares move to downtown LA. \nBarbara will join a prestigious group of past Circle Of Excellence winners including Carl Magnussen (2010)\, Ed Friedrichs (2011)\, Ray Anderson\, (2012)\, Lauren Rottet (2013)\, and Pam Light (2014) amongst others. \n\nStudent Awards\nIIDA Southern California also recognizes our future design leaders. Student members throughout the Chapter are invited to participate in an annual portfolio and Charette competition. The competitions are organized by the IIDA SoCal Board of Directors\, and an esteemed panel of professionals act as jurors at the events. Our Chapter provides monetary awards in recognition of outstanding student work each academic year. The top students receive a sponsored ticket to the Calibre Awards Gala where they are presented with their awards.
