CEU: The Gig and Shared Economy and Future of Workplace

As the world moves more and more toward the sharing of human, physical and intellectual resources as well as an increasing labor makeup of contingent workers, the workplace is changing. Flexible work is not just for entrepreneurs and startups, it is strongly penetrating all sectors of business and will have profound effect on current and future workplaces.

This CEU will focus on the implications that co-working concepts are having for those designing for and managing corporate facilities. Discussion will center around suggestions, cautions and best practices to consider when planning for the health, safety and welfare of the occupiers of these spaces.

Learning Objectives:
Develop an appreciation for coworking design principles related to the welfare and health of occupants
Overcome the buzz and recognize the fundamental implications
Recognize the drivers of this new perspective
Understand the impact on T.A.R.P.E. (Talent, Attract, Retain, Performance, Engagement)

This course is approved through IDCEC for credit with IIDA, ASID and IDC.

While some AIA members can self-report this course for credit, this is not always effective as some state licensing boards may not accept the credit for licensure.
