October is Architecture Month

In 2007, Michael A Enomoto, FAIA, and the AIA|LA went before the Los Angeles City Council to seek and gain a month recognizing the contributions by architects to culture and Los Angeles municipal life.  In the office, as we organize this year’s LArchitecture month, which kick off early with Powerful 5 (at the end of September) and culminate in the Design Awards Ceremony + Party, we can’t help but note how salient the words of that 2007 resolution still are:

Take this phrase, for instance: “the City of Los Angeles is in a unique position to recognize the vast wealth of architecture already within its municipality.”  So, before we let you know about particular events for October’s LArchitecture Month, we, in the office just wanted to take a moment, to thank our members who contribute to the urban fabric of our region on a daily basis.
