Kimball Brings Warmth & Comfort Back Into Sophisticated Design

As a world-class, design-driven company, Kimball applies its rich heritage as makers to create human-centered environments that foster community and collaboration for the workplace.

Featuring curated concepts of sophisticated yet cozy design, the company’s Chicago showroom, located just outside theMART at 325 North Wells Street, will be open daily Monday, June 10 through Wednesday, June 12 starting at 8:00 a.m. during North America’s largest design exposition for commercial interiors.

The Kimball Chicago Showroom will shine with sophistication, while exuding comfort and warmth as viewed through the lens of experience and knowledge of design and culture. Our emphasis on relaxation and wellness will be felt throughout the space in uniquely curated products that are personal, cozy and authentic.

“Health and wellness are essential to engagement and productivity. That’s why we have a continued commitment to be a company that not only focuses on innovation, and adaptability, but also one that is committed to wellbeing, offering products and solutions that provide comfort, personalization and interaction,” states Wendy Murray, Director of Brand at Kimball.

“Our 2019 showroom will feature designs that inspire, spaces that provide relief and well-being, and environments that create warmth and happiness. We are thrilled to be working with top designers in the industry through partnerships with Claudio Bellini, Brian Graham, and pL-D Design in co-creating and bringing to life their designs that focus on bringing comfort, organization and design centric solutions into the workplace,” adds Murray.

Throughout the showroom guests will experience additional new products designed for focused, social, interactive, and activity-based areas. One of the newest products in the space, Debut, (Claudio Bellini Design) features an asymmetrical, modern aesthetic. Debut includes thoughtfully designed height-adjust desks, sleek storage options, and layered wall panels. Soft, rounded corners are a key element of this unique offering, which includes privacy panels and an accessory rail to house utility tools for additional flexibility.

Work|Able, (Brian Graham Design) is an innovative, new wall system that can create functional, expressive walls by utilizing a unique palette of honest materials such as cork, peg board, chalkboard, raw metal and butcher-block. With acoustic softness, and a personal level of materiality, tactile and differentiation, it is simple and honest, yet effective and progressive.

New seating collections include Whittaker, an elegant, timeless lounge offering that combines light and slender volumes with a sophisticated, industrial aesthetic in both modular and stand-alone seating. New chairs, Nate and Natty, blend appealing style with comfort and versatility, providing a welcome new arrangement to today’s work and health landscapes. Niles is a natural choice for furnishing office, meeting and conference spaces with a timeless style of classic black or ivory with a chrome base.

The latest offerings from Kimball Health include Aiden, a height-adjustable, mobile clinician table that allows for greater patient interaction. Whittaker Health promotes comfort and style, along with limitless configurations, while meeting the rigid requirements of today’s healthcare landscapes in both function and cleanability.

Additional offerings include the warm and sophisticated Wilder collection, which has been expanded to include a rocker, loveseat and ferrule options.

Kimball is also proud to celebrate the latest member of our family. We will be showcasing a collection of iconic seating products from David Edward that exude both sophistication and luxury in our Kimball showroom. In addition, the David Edward showroom in the Merchandise Mart, space 331 will portray a sense of warmth and European modern design in its refreshed state, as well as a glimpse of what is to come.

Kimball’s heritage is built on a culture of caring that is engrained in everything we do. This culture extends beyond what we make and how we make it to specific initiatives that support our customers, communities and our world. As part of our Live Life Nice culture, we want to help increase awareness of mental health and encourage individuals to take self-assessments periodically. Our goal is to help individuals feel their best and manage their stress through acts of self-care. An estimated 26.2 percent of Americans ages 18 and older — about one in four adults — suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder in a given year. In our maker station this year, we will be providing the opportunity for attendees to create custom foot soaks utilizing essential oils to help alleviate stress and relax the body. Much of mental health is merely personal awareness of how stress and over exertion can create undue strain on our body, and how important it is to take the necessary time to take care of ourselves.

An atmosphere that not only considers productivity but peace of mind is paramount in creating an environment that is both sophisticated, as well as cozy. Our space will portray a refined sense of warmth and humanity to the workflow with furnishings in relaxed tones and rich textures; creating comfort and harmony. “Now more than ever, the lines are blurring between work and home. A comfortable setting and healthy environment in the office is expected. By evoking a forward-thinking approach, we are changing the nature of workplace activities through the creation of environments that offer comfort, foster well-being, and make everyone feel welcome and at home,” concludes Murray.
