The Downtown Breakfast Club bestowed the “Rose Garden of Innovation Award” to the Metro Station At the Bloc. The 7th street Metro Station is the first direct underground connection to a private community to a subway station. The Bloc believes in reinvention and discovery. They believe everything that comes before us shapes what we are now. And, we believe that connection is everything.
The Bloc is a vibrant, open-air urban center, a growing, inclusive community, a LEED™ certified Gold project, an inflection point in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. Encompassing a full city block along LA’s iconic 7th Street corridor, The Bloc connects the financial, fashion, jewelry, and theater districts – and the 7th Street Metro Center Station, where four DTLA lines converge.
Offering a diverse mix of thoughtfully curated shops, artisans, premier retailers including a Macy’s flagship store, restaurants, bars, open-air green space, and entertainment, The Bloc is also home to the Sheraton Grand Los Angeles Hotel, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, and a 722,000 square-foot, creative-focused office tower. An array of events from live music, dance, and theater performances to art installations, fitness classes, and food and drink tastings welcomes Angelenos and visitors from all walks of life – and anyone seeking inspiration, community, and connection.

The Downtown Breakfast Club Roses & Lemon Awards Ceremony, Celebrates with Roses by Downtown’s best new entertainment and development, while calling-out as a Lemon for improvement.
The DBC mission is to encourage the orderly growth of Downtown Los Angeles. This year’s event – co-chaired by Shelby Jordan and Jean-Guy Poitras, and overseen by President Mike Savage – paid special attention to DTLA’s new crop of renowned and innovative restaurants and bars.
WE LOVE SMART REAL-ESTATE DEVELOPMENT, CONSTRUCTION, BUSY STREETS, SPECIAL EVENTS, FILMING, MARCHES, AND ALL THE THINGS THAT ENERGIZE DOWNTOWN… BUT NOT WHEN THEY CLASH ALL AT ONCE!

WE NEED LESS CHAOS MORE COORDINATION AMONG OUR CITY DEPARTMENTS SO THAT OUR TRAFFIC DOESN’T GRIDLOCK.
